This was the scene from the window at the end of the hallway on one of the floors of the hotel in Andermatt, a town in the Userne Valley in Switzerland. The Mexican one-man-band who played nights in the bar stayed in the room at the end of the hall by the window. Many conversations took place, despite the lack of a common language. Diagrams of the minivan were drawn in pencil on the borders of the painting to explain our means of transport from London to Andermatt.
