Brush Strokes for Change
The book, Brushstrokes For Change, is written by artist and President Emeritus of the Women’s Art Association of Canada, Maggie Broda. The first section of the book tells the story of Mary Ella Dignam, the mid nineteenth century founder and first President of WAAC. The second section presents examples of the work of living artists who have exhibited work at the Dignam Gallery in Prince Arthur Avenue, Toronto. It includes two pages about Laura and her paintings.
Humpty Dumpty” is a wooden sculpture with hinged legs sitting on an impossibly high dresser in front of an elaborately floral mirror. It was part of a window display in an antique shop in Niagara Falls.
