The view of Falmouth Harbour from the parlour of Mrs. Hoskin’s guest house on one of the streets that rise steeply from the harbour in the town centre. Falmouth is a navy town with the third deepest harbour in the world. It is home to the Pendennis shipyard, named after Pendennis Castle, situated just outside Falmouth on the Pendennis Headland. The castle is a fortress built by Henry VIII and was one of the last royalist strongholds to fall during the English Civil War.
