The plastic parrot was the subject of several paintings. Where it once must have had legs, only holes were left, so the artist used pencils in the holes to compensate for the lost legs to enable it to stand. The silver “Connaught Rangers Bowl” was a sailing trophy won by our boat, “Shamal” in the Etchells race during the 1987 Cowes Week Regatta.
